Iron Man

As it turns out, I am not the last person on earth to see this movie. My brother is.

I just got done shouting at him on the phone to rectify this.

I also think I have a problem- I believe that I have been to some of the places where they shot the opening scene based on the basalt flows. No, I don't think. I know.

I may post more after I get done fangirling. As it is now, I don't think that I could give a coherent review without descending into teh capslocks of awesome. I should be done by the time the next one comes out.

I also have plans for May 22. :)

We haven't seen it yet. Possibly tomorrow.
Gah! I think the last one is me, actually, since I still haven't seen it. Tomorrow, perhaps. I really have no excuse and *want* to see it.

I think I may have been some of the places where it was shot due to the fact that we frequently got yelled at for disrupting the sound-recording ;).

Some dumbass construction company in LA decided to rent the bottom half of an old warehouse to a film production crew, and the top half to a bunch of archaeologists. We have a 2 tonne sorting machine that makes lots of noise, 6,000 boxes that need to be moved around frequently, and need to gibber at each other loudly just to stave off monotony-related insanity. Also, there were 6-inch holes drilled in the floor/ceiling between us. It didn't end well, most days ;).

I've forgiven them now, and want to see it...
I don't think most people would equate archaeologist's office with "noisy". They probably assume the dirty bits get done out in the field, and the indoor stuff is nice and quiet- maybe they're catalogueing or something.
I'm sure in retrospect, they wish they had asked.
Under other circumstances I'd agree, but our company had worked on this construction project for 10 years prior to this arrangement, and they knew what our work entailed. They were moving us from one of their other buildings because another studio bought the space we were in previously... The resulting arrangement was surely obnoxious to the production company, but they really treated our employees as if they were their own, and as if they had the right to discipline us for a situation that wasn't under our control.

I was bitter, but given that Iron Man is by all accounts a wonderful comic adaption, I'm over it ;).

That was Gabriel, typing and sending a message. I doubt, however, those basalt flows were on Io.

But I love the fact that other people look at landforms and outcrops in the movies.
Wasn't it so much fun?!!? I'm thinking about going again. And I think on May 22nd I might see my first of that franchise in a theater. Did you get a Dark Knight trailer?
